The prototype systems will be constituted into a network, tested on-line and in-situ. In order to normalise the methodology of evaluating the on-line analysing equipments, on 2003 was published the ISO 15839:2003, that describes the performance testing of on-line sensors/analysing equipment for water, and is applicable to most sensors/analysing equipment:

• defines an on-line sensor/analysing equipment for water quality measurements;
• defines terminology describing the performance characteristics of on-line sensors/analysing equipment;
• specifies the test procedures, for laboratory and field, to be used to evaluate the performance characteristics of on-line sensors/analysing equipment.

All tests to the analyser equipments executed will be according to this normative.
